Our Criteria

Game Plan AKL is working with the principals of these schools/kura to identify young people who best meet Game Plan AKL’s criteria.

Specifically, we’re supporting young people who:

  • are at risk of withdrawing or non-participation in sport or physical activities due to family financial barriers or hardship

  • demonstrate engagement in sport and physical activity (either school, club or community based) throughout primary and intermediate education

  • recognise the wide-ranging benefits (and/or value) of participating in sport and physical activity

  • have personal qualities, behaviours and dispositions that would likely see them continue to participate positively in sport and physical activity

  • positively contribute to their school or local community

  • have support from their family to be encouraged by this initiative.
